Working Principle & Design Characteristics
Two counter-rotating rotors operate synchronously inside the pump casing without physical contact or internal lubrication. Timing gears located at the shaft end maintain strict rotor clearances, enabling high-speed rotation between 1,500 and 3,000 RPM while eliminating oil contamination in the pumping chamber.

Integrated Overflow Valve Function
Our KMBD replacement Roots pumps feature an integrated bypass overflow valve between the suction and discharge ports. When the pressure differential across the pump exceeds pre-set limits, the valve automatically opens to recirculate gas back to the inlet. This automatic pressure relief mechanism provides key operational advantages:
- Simultaneous Startup: Allows operators to start the Roots booster and primary backing pump concurrently without motor overload.
- Overload Protection: Protects the drive motor and internal timing gears against excessive heat and mechanical shock under high differential pressure.
