Inch Series Shaft Collars

Our inch series shaft collars are precision-machined to comply with standard North American engineering specifications and fractional shaft tolerances. Engineered for robust power transmission and structural positioning, these components deliver high axial clamping force while preventing shaft scoring or surface marring.

  • Bore Size Options: Available in a full range of standard fractional inch dimensions.

  • Locking Designs: Fully stocked in one-piece clamp (TCN/TCL/CL), two-piece split style (SPH/SPK/SP), and heavy-duty designs.

SPK two piece keyed shaft collar

Two-piece keyed shaft collars separate fully and install around a hard or soft keyed shaft without marring or disassembly of equipment.

CL one piece clamp style collar

One-piece shaft collars wrap around the shaft for even distribution of clamping forces. This results in a tight fit and greater holding power, without the shaft damage caused by set screws. Clamp collars are easy to remove, indefinitely adjustable, and work well on virtually any shaft.

Technical Standards & Selection Guide for Inch Shaft Collars

In North American manufacturing and industrial automation assemblies, utilizing components that strictly adhere to fractional dimensions and ANSI thread standards is critical for seamless integration. Our inch series shaft collars provide dependable mechanical stopping and component retention under demanding operational conditions.

ANSI Compliance & Mechanical Clamping Mechanics

Proper execution of axial holding power requires exact perpendicularity between the collar's front face and its internal bore. This precision minimizes runout when the collar faces a bearing or pulley hub.

  • Inch Clamp Style (One-Piece & Two-Piece): These designs utilize high-grade, standard inch-sized socket head cap screws to exert uniform radial pressure. By relying on strict surface-to-surface friction rather than point-contact penetration, they provide strong torsional holding torque without compromising the precision-ground finish of your shafts.

  • Specialized Keyed & Threaded Options (SPK / TCL / TCN): For heavy reciprocating loads or high-vibration applications, our threaded inch collars (with standard UN series threads) and keyed collars (SPK series) deliver an absolute mechanical lock, preventing axial migration during sudden shock loads.

Industrial Material Grades & Finishes

To accommodate varying environmental demands, our inch-sized clamping collars are available in standard premium materials:

  • Carbon Steel (Black Oxide Finish): Provides an economical, high-strength solution for enclosed dry environments, featuring minimal dimensional buildup for precise fits.

  • Stainless Steel (Grade 303 / 316): Offers ideal corrosion resistance for machinery used in food processing, sanitary washdowns, or coastal marine environments.
