SPK two piece keyed shaft collar
Two-piece keyed shaft collars separate fully and install around a hard or soft keyed shaft without marring or disassembly of equipment.
CL one piece clamp style collar
One-piece shaft collars wrap around the shaft for even distribution of clamping forces. This results in a tight fit and greater holding power, without the shaft damage caused by set screws. Clamp collars are easy to remove, indefinitely adjustable, and work well on virtually any shaft.
Technical Guide: Selecting the Right Shaft Collar Design
Choosing the correct shaft collars configuration are critical to ensuring mechanical stability and minimizing component wear. Depending on your torque requirements and installation constraints, three primary designs are available:
1. Clamp Style Shaft Collars (One-Piece & Two-Piece)
Clamp-style collars wrap around the shaft, distributing clamping forces uniformly around the entire circumference. This design provides significantly higher holding power than set screw types and will not mar or damage the shaft.

One-Piece Clamp Style (MCL / CL Series): Offers excellent holding power and precise alignment. It must be slid onto the end of the shaft during assembly.

Two-Piece Clamp Style (MSP / SP / SPH Series): Can be disassembled and installed anywhere along an existing shaft assembly without requiring the removal of other components, drastically reducing maintenance downtime in complex machinery.
2. Set Screw Shaft Collars (MSC / SC Series)
Set screw collars represent the traditional design, relying on the tightening of a hardened set screw directly into the shaft surface.

Best For: Low-load applications, simple axial positioning, or use on shafts with pre-machined flats or dimples.

Note: This style provides localized holding power and may slightly mar the shaft, making fine adjustments more difficult later.
3. Keyed & Threaded Specialized Collars (SPK / TCL / TCN Series)

Keyed Shaft Collars (SPK): Feature an internal keyway designed for driven shafts. They combine the friction holding power of a clamp collar with a positive mechanical lock, ideal for high-torque or shock-load environments.
